Famed Ocean Explorer Develops Novel Green Approach to Sea-Floor Mining

After nearly 40 years of raising gold, tin, rubber, lead and over $100,000,000 in Chinese Porcelain from ships lost at sea, Michael Hatcher (Captain) has earned his reputation as the top name in ship salvage. Several books and films have highlighted his life and adventures, which are not without controversy.

Over his career he has been developing novel seafloor vacuum systems to assist his salvage efforts. What he discovered is that they represent an ideal solution to the Indonesian tin mining industry currently in crisis. Existing dredging systems used are costly, inefficient and can no longer access the deeper tin reserves due to technical limitations. In addition, dredging is devastating to wildlife and the sea-floor, coming under fire for their impact to fisheries.

By combining low and high pressure water and air in a proprietary array he is able to access deeper reserves in minutes and extract reserves with non-mechanical zero-wear systems whereas dredging takes hours and even days burning fuel with costly equipment breakdown. It's a great thing when green is just better all around...

Michael may have developed the "ultimate green solution" to an ailing and once lucrative tin industry with his systems known as “offshore bore mining” OBM. The future of mining is likely to include offshore clean systems such as these, which represent greater cost efficiencies and a huge leap forward in sustainability, much needed in the space.

Indonesia is the world’s largest exporters of tin, and producers are lining up to partner with Michael to increase productions now off some 60%. As of 2017 foreign firms can now operate favorably in Indonesia without earlier restrictions, so long as domestic labor is utilized.

Michael still has his hands in the salvage business and various projects are on the timeline to balance finances as we roll out barges to re-invigorate the once thriving tin industry – less the environmental destruction.

Initial demonstrations were completed this Month, and all systems are go, says the captain.  A clean, green and prosperous future awaits,
