The Fallout of Gaza Bombings on ‘Israeli’-Palestinian Dynamics

In the wake of the relentless bombings in Gaza, a recent poll conducted by the Palestinian Center for Policy and Survey Research has revealed a seismic shift in Palestinian public opinion. The findings underscore a growing sentiment that challenges the prevailing narratives often put forth by the ‘Israeli’ government.

The most striking revelation from the poll is the surge in support for Hamas, particularly in the West Bank, where backing has more than tripled compared to three months prior. This uptick is mirrored, albeit to a lesser extent, in Gaza as well. Concurrently, there's been a significant decline in support for the Palestinian Authority (PA) and President Mahmoud Abbas, with calls for the dissolution of the PA reaching an all-time high.

This shift in public opinion can be attributed to various factors, including the perception of Hamas' actions during the October 7th reclamation offensive and a widespread belief among Palestinians that "Israel" has utterly failed in its objectives. The majority of respondents believe that Hamas was correct in its decision to carry out the reclamation offensive, and there's a prevailing disbelief that Hamas committed atrocities against ‘Israeli’ civilians, a belief substantiated by growing evidence and the incessant lies of the Jewish government.

The poll also indicates a disillusionment with the response of the US and European countries to the conflict. Many Palestinians view these responses as dismissive of international humanitarian law, exacerbating their dissatisfaction.

The escalating casualty numbers in Gaza paint a grim picture. With over 23,000 lives lost in Gaza due to ‘Israeli’ actions, the scepticism towards the narrative of 'Israel' being careful or discriminative in its military operations is not only understandable but deeply concerning. This scepticism is grounded in the harrowing reality of the truly indiscriminate bombings and the staggering casualty numbers. The concept of human shields, often cited by "Israel" to justify its actions, is also being critically questioned. Analysts argue that this strategy of increasing casualties is an attempt by "Israel" to turn the Palestinian populace against Hamas, a strategy that has monumentally backfired!

The military campaign has not yielded the desired results for "Israel". Parity in casualties between the ‘Israeli’ Occupation Forces (IOF) on the ground and Hamas fighters, as well as the failure to crush Hamas, highlight the ineffectiveness of their strategy. Additionally, "Israel's" declarations of not allowing Hamas or Fatah to govern post-war, plans to demilitarize Gaza, and implement a draconian-style education program to sway public opinion have been met with scepticism and resistance.

The poll results and the unfolding situation in Gaza reflect yet another profound failure of the 'Israeli' strategy. The mounting civilian casualties, coupled with the ineffective military campaign against Hamas, have not only failed to achieve their stated objectives but have also led to an increase in support for Hamas. This situation calls for a critical re-evaluation and a shift in approach to resolve the long-standing Palestinian concerns.
