Dearly beloved,
So it's not been a great week! I've been hit pretty hard with migraines - harder than I have been in a really long time and it has knocked me for six. Sometimes, when these things finally abate, and certainly for shorter ones, I get a feeling of elation before or after, sometimes I feel like I'm on cloud nine, just to be able to do normal things, to be able to be comfortable. But this time, I just felt extremely guarded, really kind of shell shocked (and yes, I use that term on purpose) and almost afraid to step outside the front door or do anything that might trigger another attack.
As always, it made me wonder what to say, what to write, what to share, there are so many lessons I learn from experiences like this. And finally yesterday it became clear that I was really feeling the fear of loss of success. And this is how I shared it:
But I guess the bigger thing, the reminder that we always need (my gurus would say every second of every day) is just how fragile we are, how delicate we all are and how wonderful and precious and magical life is, every second of every day (even when we are ill or in pain).
In some ways, hearing echoes of the Covid enquiry here in the UK, I am reminded of how it felt when we kept being pulled back into lockdown (or semi-lockdown, or Tier systems, or track and trace...) that feeling of just how precious it was to be able to go for a walk, to go into a shop, to stand outside and talk for a little while to our neighbours. That era when, just as we got used to being free again, we were pulled back in. We have a lot to heal, but as always, I am confident that we will figure it out.
I'm working on my audiobooks quite steadily now. Just released two this month!
And next month (that's July! aka tomorrow) I'm working on the next book "Camino de la Luna - Courage"?which is a biggie! It starts in Malaysia and in Borneo and visiting the places where they re-wild animals like orangutans and sun bears. It's a lot more complex than just opening a gate and saying, "Run free, little Bob," and we could say that those animals are probably not as complex as we are, so, whatever happens, I'll be proud of the times I try so hard to be wild and free, whenever I get the chance.
Lots of love,
Pearl
