Tesco has locked the prices of more than 1,000 products until next year, in the latest attempt to keep pace with discounter Aldi.

Meanwhile, Aldi has revealed priority locations for building new stores.

Soft drinks giants have written to prime minister Rishi Sunak urging him to spare the UK’s deposit return scheme from the axe, amid fears it may be next up in his environmental cost-cutting drive.
