Fall'22 Internship Experience

Fall'22 Internship Experience

After the completion of 90 days with Tesla as a Data Analyst Intern, I wanted to take some time to reflect on my experience and the knowledge I had received. Due to the complex global supply chains and rising demand for electric vehicles, data analysts must improve forecast accuracy and resolve capacity shortages between Tesla and Tier - 2 suppliers.

I had been excited to take up this challenge where I need to do my full time internship being a full-time academic student, was the best time of my life. Some of my key responsibilities included:

  1. Building a forecasting model using python for Low Voltage Harnesses in terms of high level component visibility for a two year horizon
  2. Additionally, I did multiple data cleaning, data manipulation and automation activities for board connector forecasts in python
  3. Automating the mundane activities of several iterated activities into a one roof of activity
  4. Effectively communicating with the suppliers in terms of demand forecast confirmation, localization and future business opportunities
  5. Resolving capacity shortages on a daily basis with the suppliers.

The primary skills I had developed during my internship were python fundamentals, prioritization, managing stakeholders and effective communication.

Finally I want to thank my manager Chris and mentor Abi for providing me this promising opportunity, providing the high level on-going projects and also honing my data analytics skills.
