Fall into New Books and Creative Holiday Gifts This Season!

. . . And so it’s here: the beginning of a season filled with excitement and holiday but also that tinge of sadness from the exit of a long summer spent on vacation and with friends and family; evenings on the porch or yard; that not-quite-finished summer-reading list . . .

These little moments even have me feeling nostalgic of childhood summers. I wish I’d read more, written more, drawn more, explored more. Just done more. Luckily, I did enough to have something sparked inside of me—a love of reading and writing and art—and that initial spark is all anyone really needs. A spark to really get going, to be passionate, to have a purpose.

It can be easy to let this aspect of life slip away (oddly, especially during busy holiday seasons) when we’re consumed in our everyday, busy routines and careers. Work. Children. Commutes. Sports. Clubs. PTA. Night school. You get the idea. Life is packed, but we have to make a conscious effort to embrace the talents and skills and hobbies that set us apart. These are our sparks. They are what make some of us Olympic athletes, concert pianists, brain surgeons, founders of Silicon Valley startups—the list is never-ending. Where will your spark take you?

Now that I’ve mourned summer adequately and lent a bit of inspiration, on to what September has in store for Bumble Beezus Books. Our new book, Miss Pumpkins: Diary of a Should-Be Show Cat, is off to print this week and will be for sale on Amazon and at the James Island Farmer’s Market, along with a selection of our other books.

Additionally, we will have our A Halloween Night hitting Amazon this month, along with Baby, Hand, Finger, and Footprint Foods. A Halloween Night is also available locally at the farmer’s market.

Although it is just the beginning of Fall and the pumpkin-spice lattes have only just arrived, now is the time to get thinking about holiday gifts for your loved ones.

An original storybook is the perfect gift for family and close friends! If your child has artwork or stories he or she is already bringing home from school, send them in to us, and let our editors see what package works for you! Or if you already have an idea of the package you want, send in the appropriate materials, and let’s get started. The earlier the better to beat the Christmas rush.
