Fall in Love with the System, Not the Business

Should I be in love with my franchise? No, you shouldn't be. Let me give you an example. If you're a golfer like I am, would I go buy a golfing franchise? No, because I probably want to be playing golf, not running the actual business.?

The System You’re Buying: What It Includes and Why It Matters

If you want to read a book on this, there's a great book called The E-Myth Revisited, which talks about exactly what we're chatting about here. You need to purchase a business that'll help you achieve your goals. It needs to be able to achieve what you want in the future, 3, 5, 10 years from now.?

If you talk to successful business owners, what they will typically share with you is that they could care less what the business actually does. They care where the business got them and if they were able to achieve their goals and their dreams. Don't fall in love with the business and what it does. Fall in love with the system of the franchise, because that's what you are purchasing, and that's what you're going to write a check for.

Achieving Your Goals Through Franchise Ownership

You are writing a check for the accounting systems, the marketing systems, the training, the support. Your customers are going to write a check for the actual product or service that the business provides. So long as the system gets you what you're looking for, you should be able to achieve your goals and what you're looking for in a business. Again, don't fall in love with what the business does, fall in love with what the business will get you.?
