Fall in Love with the Figurative Form

Fall in Love with the Figurative Form

From time when humans first drew an image on the wall, that prehistoric cave I'm sure came to life. Recreating images seen in real life has been a form of artistic expression ever since.

This month in the Gallery we play homage to all things figurative.

New and diverse paintings plus sculpture on display

NAILED IT by Shaun Gagg

Striking wall sculpture. Each nail intricately welded together, the work is then varnished and hangs beautifully on the wall.

ADORATION ROUGE by Joel Moens de Hase

Original Photographic Mosaic

Thousands of tiny images woven together to make one impact piece. A truly astonishing finish, the work sandwiched between two sheet of glass. Really contemporary and looks great in the that modern apartment or new extension

TOKEN by Anna E Davies

Original Art : Oil on Board

Welsh painter Davies takes inspiration from her day-to-day environment in Nottingham, revealing the underlying sentiments and sensations lurking in mundane, everyday experiences

Her ruddy, fleshy figures recall the grubby worlds of Raymond Briggs and Quentin Blake as much as Francis Bacon’s contorted dreamscapes. Here the mind is making a break for it through the body and reality is worming its way out from under appearance
