Why These Programs Matter ????

These scholarships and travel support programs are essential for the growth and sustainability of the vacuum coating industry. By investing in both young talent and seasoned professionals, the SVC and SVC Foundation fosters an environment of innovation and collaboration.

Here’s why these initiatives are so important:

  • Bridging the gap between students and professionals: Programs like the Student/Young Professional Travel Sponsorship allow new voices to be heard at industry events, where they can connect with seasoned experts.
  • Removing financial barriers: For many students and professionals, the cost of attending conferences like TechCon can be prohibitive. These programs ensure that financial limitations don’t stand in the way of learning and growth.
  • Supporting research in key areas: By focusing on scholarships for specific fields like Optical Thin Films, the Foundation ensures that critical research areas continue to thrive.

The Importance of Donor Support ????

None of this would be possible without the generosity of our donors. Their contributions have made a lasting impact by funding scholarships that fuel research and drive career development. One of the newest scholarships, endowed by Clark and Karen Bright, honors the legacy of Angus Macleod. This continued support is essential to expanding these opportunities and ensuring that future generations can thrive and succeed.
