We are just over a week away from Labor Day—the unofficial beginning of fall and the start of Greentown’s busiest events season. On top of our marquee Climatetech Summit, our upcoming events lineup includes the Year 4 kickoff of the Carbon to Value Initiative, the Year 2 showcase of ACCEL, an impact-investing workshop, a career fair, the first-ever Climate Impact Awards Dinner, and much more.

What does this mean for you? Incredible opportunities to meet, network, and explore collaborations with Greentown’s community of 200+ cutting-edge climatetech startups. EcoForge is developing a line of sustainable alternatives to toxic, fossil-fuel-based building materials. The ACCEL Year 2 startup makes composites that cut building emissions, are made of naturally occurring salts and polymers, and replace petroleum-based components used in most of today’s building materials. What if insurance companies played a bigger role in scaling climatetech solutions? “We need insurance to step out of the shadows as a behind-the-scenes economic engine, rise to the occasion, and adapt to the accelerating pressures that the market is imposing on climate technologies,” writes Greentown’s SVP of Partnerships Aisling Carlson .

Aug. 22: Transition On Tap [Greentown Houston]

Join us tonight for our summer Transition On Tap, Greentown Houston’s signature networking event devoted to fostering conversations and connections among the climate and energy transition ecosystem, in Houston and beyond. At this event, we'll also highlight what's in store for the first-ever Houston Energy and Climate Startup Week (Sept. 9-13).

Aug. 27: Investor Education Workshop: Impact Investing [Greentown Houston]

Later this month is the final 2024 workshop of the Houston Ion District Investor Activation Program! This insightful panel discussion will delve into impact investing, exploring how both seasoned and aspiring early-stage venture investors in Houston can define and measure impact.

Sept. 5: ACCEL Year 2 Showcase [Greentown Houston]

Celebrate the second year of ACCEL, an accelerator program for BIPOC-led startups from Greentown and Browning the Green Space! This event will feature the seven participating startups’ technologies, what they’ve accomplished in the first six months of the program, and where they’re headed next.

Sept. 11: Climatetech Innovation Celebration: Stories from Startups and Cutting-edge Researchers [Greentown Houston]

As part of the inaugural Houston Energy and Climate Startup Week, join Greentown to recognize and celebrate the impact of startups and universities in mitigating climate change and building resilient communities.?

Sept. 12: Climatetech Career Fair [Greentown Boston]

The Greentown Boston 2024 Career Fair, put on in partnership with Wells Fargo Innovation Incubator (IN2), will help jobseekers learn about career opportunities with our community of world-changing climatetech startups.

Sept. 13: Climate Impact Awards Dinner [Outpost at POST Houston]

Join Greentown Houston’s first-ever Climate Impact Awards Dinner, a semi-formal fundraising event featuring a cocktail hour and sit-down dinner, a distinguished speaker, music and dancing, a silent auction, and startup awards.
