Fall asleep with a dream, wake up with a purpose
Happy Monday morning.
Hopefully fulfilling, fun, relaxing and overall pleasant weekends were had by you all.
This is a little bit different to my regular posts regarding legal opinions and advancements, but hopefully still thought-provoking and perhaps a little bit disrupting to the status quo.
In my many (many, many, many) years of coming to the office on a Monday morning, I have seen colleagues, commuters, anonymous faces in elevators with that look of fatigue. The weekend was great, now we have to do what we need to do to finance it....back to work. I have also seen the energised look on the faces of colleagues, commuters and anonymous elevator-sharers.
Monday mornings are polarising when it comes to energy and optimism. A survey of some 2,000 voters on NBC's Today show, found that 10.54am on Monday is the golden minute that American's are most productive. Whilst this is not a defining statistic and a bigger survey will probably have a bigger variance, it still makes sense.
Monday mornings are also the busiest times for recruiters all across this wonderful world of ours. People who loath coming into work, break! They want a new job...they've had a dream and have woken up with a purpose...they call us!
You already know how great we are, so this is not about saying get in touch, but more a case of reminding all of us how important it is for our wellbeing, happiness and overall health to have the energy on a Monday morning and to look forward to being that happy face on the tube, in the elevator and around the water cooler.
Do what makes you happy... the rest will follow.
Have a great week!
