Fall '22 Co-op Experience

This fall, I got the opportunity to continue my internship at o9 Solutions, Inc. as a Business Operations Specialist in the delivery team.

I worked on the same project I did in the summer, which was a demand planning implementation for one of o9’s biggest clients. Being a customer-centric organization, this was a great opportunity to learn how to interact with a specific client in a corporate setting. As I dived deeper into the project in the past few months, I was introduced further to a variety of new concepts.

Some of my duties and learnings included:

• Understood the core steps involved in the demand planning implementation methodology and the use of advanced analytics at a deeper level
• Studied various Stat Forecast Models (ARIMA, ETS, etc.) as part of the validation process
• Got more familiar with running IBPL queries and procedures to extract the required data on the o9 platform
• Extracted and analyzed stat forecast data for validation and testing purposes
• Helped resolve defects and errors during the User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and Hypercare phase of the project

Apart from the project, the Fall '22 Co-op gave me many opportunities to interact and network with fellow o9ers at the o9 Dallas office. Over this time working on the project, I can confidently say that I have gained knowledge regarding demand planning concepts to a much greater level. Moreover, o9 Academy and the Platform Wiki have been one of the best learning resources, which can help resolve almost any query.

Being at o9 for the past few months has been a wonderful experience. Continuing my internship into the fall semester helped me get more involved in the project, and has definitely helped me sharpen my technical as well as communication skills. It has been a challenging yet rewarding journey so far. Special thanks to my manager Jambu Deviprasad and my mentor Brad Patel for their guidance, and Saurabh Deshpande and Ritik Verma for helping me throughout the course of my internship.

I would also like to thank Lauren Clover for giving me this chance to intern at o9, and I am beyond grateful for being able to meet amazing mentors along the way. I look forward to contributing to the project for the remaining course of my internship!
