Fall 2023 Urban Transport & Logistics Systems Project Exhibit
Joseph Chow
Professor in urban transport systems @ NYU, Deputy Director of C2SMARTER
It's the end of another semester of this course offering and, once again, I would like to share some of our students' projects because they do such fine jobs given the limited time and tight schedules to turn things around.
Swati Sharma , Amari Garrett , and Jiani Lyu developed a more sustainable alternative routing to show how much a few extra minutes from a "10-minute delivery" can mean, using a case study in Gurugram, India.
Toby Du, Godfried Junio Matahelemual , and Yuhan Zheng presented an electric charging information system that routes travelers to stations keeping in mind the occupancy.
Het Danak , Prajwal Chauhan , and Shou Zhang developed a recommender system for tourists visiting NYC that would optimize the routes and durations of stay at different locations based on user preferences.
Hanbyul Jo studied the "bus train" problem at one of the major intercity terminals and quantified the effects on delay of diverting buses to alternative locations using queueing.
Ali Pirmohammadi , Prakrith Raja, and Zhenglei Ji implemented a prior study that proposed a staff rebalancing and user incentivization strategies for lower Manhattan to show the potential benefits for Citi Bike.
