Fall 2023 Internship experience at Tesla
Throughout my internship journey working as an Analyst within Tesla's Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) team, I was fortunate to be a part of an innovative company dedicated to propelling the global shift toward sustainable energy.
My role involved pivotal responsibilities, notably optimizing the organization's risk and compliance landscape by ensuring strict adherence of IT applications to change management policies. My role encompassed writing Automation Scripts for backend APIs, reducing regression test efforts for the Inhouse Identity and Access Management application. Additionally, developing dashboards for Change Management policies using Tableau, providing actionable insights, and saving time for the compliance team.
My assignments included validating end-to-end system capabilities which includes User Interface, Backend for Frontend, Backend, and the APIs integrating all these components. Also documenting and maintaining required testing artifacts and getting sign offs from the required IT stakeholders, actively participating, and contributing to the working and brainstorming sessions. I was responsible for creating monthly reports for Capital Expenditure and Operational Expenditure for the Accounting team, collaborating with the stakeholders across IT organizations and also crafting an extensive user guide for the Inhouse Identity and Access Management application.
My day-to-day responsibilities additionally included working with Sr. Software Development Engineer to validate the new architecture for the Identity and Access Management application by ensuring the solution of the architecture is optimal and the quality of the product delivered is up to Tesla standards. All the above was accomplished and taken on incorporating Tesla’s values while dealing it at the fastest pace environment. Beyond this, I have started learning the Conductor tool, Kafka tool, and the operational mechanics of the distributed solutions that helps applications in remediating dependencies on external applications.
At Tesla, I will continue to improve the scale, efficiency, and the speed that I work with to further accelerate the process to achieve the set goals and reduce the timeline, as I have done in the past. I will continue to expand the scale of responsibilities that I have been undertaking and take over the essential projects within the IT organization to contribute significantly to Tesla’s objectives.
