Driving Efficiency, Quality, and Cost Optimization at Delta Electronics

This past Fall 2023 semester marked a pivotal chapter in my career journey as I embarked on a transformative internship at Delta Electronics. My tenure was a dynamic blend of responsibilities aimed at streamlining production processes, reducing costs, and elevating the standard of product quality.

At the core of my responsibilities was the meticulous evaluation of existing production methods, identifying precise areas ripe for improvement. Through a systematic, data-driven approach, we unearthed opportunities to enhance efficiency while fortifying product quality, all while driving down operational costs.

A pivotal highlight of my internship involved the design and implementation of experiments, where I painstakingly collected and analyzed data, conducting rigorous hypothesis testing. This process validated proposed improvements, furnishing concrete evidence to implement changes that significantly impacted production procedures.

Statistical analysis formed the backbone of my work, enabling the unveiling of trends, patterns, and root causes behind process variations. Leveraging my analytical prowess and proficiency in SAP, advanced Excel tools (including VBA and Macros), Python, R, and SQL, I collaborated seamlessly with the process engineering team. Together, we innovated assembly instructions using these tools, significantly boosting productivity and precision in assembly tasks.

Beyond analysis, I actively contributed to assembly tasks, continuously refining methods through data-driven insights gleaned from an established assembly process database. Moreover, I delved into evaluating fixture costs, conducting comprehensive market research and cost analysis, contributing significantly to the company's cost optimization strategies.

Furthermore, I played a pivotal role in supporting engineers to devise optimal assembly designs that balanced cost-efficiency without compromising manufacturing or design quality. This multifaceted involvement provided me with comprehensive experience in the production lifecycle, from analysis and improvement to hands-on implementation and cost management.

My internship at Delta Electronics was a transformative experience, equipping me with a holistic understanding of process engineering. It honed my skills in optimization, statistical analysis, cost management, and collaborative problem-solving. This enriching experience underscored the immense value of data-driven decision-making and continuous improvement in achieving operational excellence within manufacturing environments.
