Fall 2022 Internship Experience

Fall 2022 has been a fascinating and enriching time for me as I continued my internship with? DZS ?as a Product Line Management Intern. I am grateful for this opportunity because my summer internship was a great learning experience for me, and during this fall, I got the chance to hone my skills more finely.?

Last few months have helped me not only implement what I was learning in my classes at the University of Texas at Dallas but also vice versa. I continued working on similar products and tools at DZS, but I also got to learn more in-depth about the product management process.?

I jumped in-depth on platforms/applications like Smartsheet, Jira for Project Management, MS Project, and Confluence. Significant projects that I worked on in the last few months include analyzing which platform works best for us for project tracking, scheduling, and management. I did a thorough comparison study on Smartsheet, Jira, and MS Planner. Apart from that, I was responsible for working on Confluence for DZS to update all active, past, and future product information and keep it up to date with weekly status and revisions. This work also gave me a broader understanding of companywide products (related to all four pillars we have at DZS). Now we are at a phase where my team has taken the responsibility of Confluence training for companywide usage, and I am glad to be a part of this project.?

As fulfilling as these past few months were for my professional career, working with DZS has also resulted in my personal growth. I now have a better understanding of how to function as a product manager, how to manage my time, and how to become a better communicator.?

I am eternally grateful to my team for their guidance, patience, and care. They have been the most understanding as I managed my office timings and attended college. I am pleased to continue this journey and keep working with DZS as a Product Line Management Intern till May 2023.?
