Fall 2020 Internship Experience

ZenythGroup is accessibility focused software development company that differentiates with deep expertise in ADA website accessibility and compliance, and helps companies identify, remedy, and support their accessible digital platforms. ZenythGroup is a mission-driven organization fuelled by the belief that technology should be inclusive and accessible for people of all abilities.

I am pursuing a Masters in Information Technology and Management at The University of Texas at Dallas. This fall, I am privileged that I had the opportunity to work with ZenythGroup. I interned as a senior web accessibility consultant focusing not only on ADA compliance but also on managing a team of developers and testers and handling the deliverables for various projects. Even though the experience has been mostly virtual, it has been an excellent campaign so far.

My work here includes tracking the project deliverables, creating dashboards using Tableau, and giving walk-throughs to the client about the various ADA compliance issues and their impact. Also, addressing the issues by providing recommendations to fix them. It has been a great learning curve from the first day at ZenythGroup. I have been implementing the concepts that I learned during my coursework at Naveen Jindal School of Management, from courses like project management, spread-sheet modeling, and strategy management that helped me to develop various defect tracking strategies for the team which leads to various process improvements.

Given the unprecedented situation, the ZenythGroup team left no stone unturned to make me feel comfortable and welcome on their team. I virtually met a lot of other team members and it was a delightful experience. The work environment has been amazing, and the best part is you do not ever feel like you are working alone on any project. The open-door policy allows me to ask questions to my manager to get a better insight into the projects. There are daily meetings and monthly problem-solving sessions to come up with ideas to tackle the problems that I and my team face and this provides me an opportunity not only to learn and improve but also to be more confident in sharing ideas and implementing them the way I want.

Lastly, I would like to thank Mr. Daryn Harpaz - CEO, for providing me the opportunity to be a part of ZenythGroup and for always being there to assist in anything and everything. I would also like to thank my professors at UT Dallas who helped me to gain the right knowledge to successfully accomplish this internship. With the Master’s degree at The University of Texas at Dallas and the knowledge that I gained from my Internship experience at ZenythGroup, I am a step closer to achieving my career goals.
