Falcon 6X The best executive jet ever?

Falcon 6X The best executive jet ever?

??On 22 August, after two years and more than 1,500 test flight hours, the FAA and the EASA finally issued type certification for Dassault Aviation's new business jet, the Falcon 6X. It will compete with the Bombardier Global 6000 and Gulfstream G600 in the long-haul business jet segment.

??Dassault claims this is the most spacious, advanced and versatile twinjet in the long-range business jet segment. With a range of 5500 Nm, a maximum certified altitude of 51000ft and a top speed of Mach 0.90, it can carry 12 to 16 passengers, depending on its configuration.

??This is a major challenge for the French manufacturer, following the industrial failure of the Falcon 5X project, which was never produced. But the Falcon 6X is also being launched in an unfavourable environmental climate, particularly in Europe, where business aviation is under fire for its impact on the climate. In response to the critics, Dassault claims that its aircraft is equipped with the latest cutting-edge technology, and insists that it is capable of flying on 50% sustainable aviation fuel (SAF).

??Criticisms aside, this "made in France" aircraft remains an admirable technological achievement, and a promising star for Dassault, whose business jet production accounts for between 30 and 35% of sales.
