Fake and Truth

Tamar Lev-On, creates reality. She writes and creates characters and histories and asks questions relevant to the age of "fake news". Often she intertwines her own character into real or fictional, local stories, showcasing the result on multiple channels: paintings, video, object or text, together or separately.

This year, Tamar has launched her book : LEGEND. A wide scope project that unfolds a fake history and an alternative way of life in Israel.

In her book, Tamar introduces 40 intertwined fake characters with fake biographies which she showcases in multiple ways: collage, refined photography, sketches,drawings, objects and findings related to their fictional biographies.

The book is designed as an archive, visually simulating an old encyclopedia or either as a magazine, defining plants and abruptly cut by metaphors or integrated into them.

Tamar, a member of the P8 gallery is regularly showcasing in Israel with accolades and scholarships worldwide. Tamar studied architecture at the TLV University and art at Kingstone University, London.
