When I was a kid, I thought that businessmen are very alike looking people of the same preferences, tastes, styles, ideas. In my head 'a business person' was a man/a woman (in way fewer cases though) who wears a three-pieces-suit, has some good watch on his right hand, drives his nice car himself, always carries a laptop around and definitely can impress any stranger around with his perfect knowledge of a couple of languages, good education and 10+ years of experience (even if he is just 25). That was a ‘business’ type of person for me.

Then, in a couple of years after my 'business person' image was already shaped, my mom started watching one weird reality show. I really don't remember what was it about. The only thing I can still recall is that in the show they had one very weird guy. He did not have any other but secondary school education, he was not wearing a suit and never had a watch on his right hand. He was not smart in what he was saying, he was far from being the perfect example of politeness and respect. He looked weird, behaved weird, and in general was quite a weird guy. To watch him doing things was quite entertaining. Every time he ate, food was everywhere around but not in his mouth; every time he tried to say a sentence, something was wrong either with grammar or word choice. And guess what, he was quite a successful businessman in the food & beverage industry. My brain was shocked, as well as my inner self.
What I saw was far from the shaped image I had in my mind, and unwillingly I got a question: so, was that guy an exception in business, or was it me who was wrong about the generalized image of a 'business person'?
I grew up, met a couple of people, and got to know that whatever I thought business would be was far from reality I faced. Business owners, founders, and entrepreneurs I was meeting on my way definitely did not look like the image I had in my head. They were all different, all of different tastes and preferences. Some of them wore watches on the left and not the right hand, some of them did not have a watch at all. Some of them did not wear suits. Some of them were spending days and nights in the offices, others in clubs, the rest was traveling the world. Some of them did not have WhatsApp and were only reachable via Instagram. Some of them were scared to drive, others did not have a license, others loved the metro more than anything else in this world. Some of them were extra tall, some of them were too young or too old, others were not reading news at all and did not even have a laptop!
They were all not like I imagined them to be. They were different, without any specific qualities listed in a ‘business’ list that I truly believed ever existed.
I saw that business people are not always polished versions of super people. I saw that they have their flaws and insecurities.

So, what I wanted to say is that a month ago I launched a company, guys, and joined the ‘business’ people community. I’m also far from being the polished version of myself and especially I’m far from the image of a superwoman. I still have a lot to learn and to do, still, a lot to conquer, win and achieve but hey, I know my strengths and can’t wait to help to the ones who need exactly my knowledge or skills. At the end of the day, I can communicate with clients using 7 languages I know, that’s already enough for a start.
