Fake Profile Saturday

I have no opinion of Social Saturday. I connected with Jennifer Wallace through that cycle and she is interesting all week. No fake profile would post about interesting dreams and everything else that she does to enhance this site.

The latest connection request is from "The Director of Operations at the Peninsula Hotel". Good title. I have never stayed in a Peninsula property. They are prestigious.

Leading me to Google. When I searched the title, her name and profile came up. It is possible a young woman could rise to the top. The CEO of In-N-Out burger is the granddaughter of the founders. When Lynsi Snyder- the only child of an only child became the last living member of her family she maintained the chain.

I would connect with her. Stephanie Stuckey posts and I have not had the opportunity to visit Stuckey's. Road trip! That is more interesting than looking up the title.

Oddly enough, the same connection who requested to connect. Her banner states #stopasianhate which I am on board with. She, the leader of a hotel in prestigious locations such as Beverly Hills, Hong Kong and London has zero followers.

Anyone in a leadership position should have many connections. If it is a new profile, why choose me to be the first connection? Finding the page with the executives of Peninsula Hotels- there's no "Director of Operations"

There are a couple of Group Directors. I believe they are actual people who may or may not have LinkedIn profiles. Is this young woman creating the job she wants? Nothing wrong with that. Bots don't realize there are such things as search engines.

I am not so excited that someone will connect with me that I would connect sight unseen. If they have many mutual connections and commented on a post or liked a status- that's the beginning of a good connection.

It's not like I can "Steal her followers." She has zero. Chances are this profile will self destruct in twenty-four hours. Another fake request fell away. No picture, no headline and no reason to connect.

I am an expert on fake profiles. There is no pride in that. I want to meet many exciting new connections whose ideas inspire me in countless ways. This lady lost me by stating she is from Delano, California.

That is thirty-one miles from Bakersfield (I had to look it up) so even if she worked in Beverly Hills that is too much commute. Making up a job title is not a good first impression. That does not begin a relationship with integrity. I shall not connect under false pretenses.
