Faith When Life Feels Out of Control

Faith When Life Feels Out of Control

"As it is written: “I have made you a father of many nations.” He is our father in the sight of God, in whom he believed—the God who gives life to the dead and calls into being things that were not." Romans 4:17 NIV

We all go through times in our faith walk when everything seems out of control, and nothing makes sense.

We may encounter roadblocks like illness, the death of loved ones, divorce, bankruptcy, infertility, or unemployment. In such crises, it's easy to feel like you're at a dead end and to question whether you missed God's will or if you are in a nightmare all by yourself.

However, this is precisely the moment when you need to remember what God can do. The situation may be beyond your control, but it's never beyond God's control. Instead of focusing on what you can't do, you must try to focus on what God can do.

Romans 4:17 states that Abraham had faith in God, who can bring the dead back to life and create new things out of nothing. These are things that God can do that we can't: He can bring life to the dead, and He can create something out of nothing. If God can resurrect a dead man, He can do anything.

We need faith in God because He can control what we can't. As Jesus says in Luke 18:27, "What is impossible with man is possible with God" (NIV).

God specializes in the impossible, and He can work miracles in our lives. No matter what the struggle is, God is ready to turn it into deliverance.

When you share your life deeply with other men, you get to go on more than one adventure. Your P4 group helps you see the power of God in your own life, but because of the brotherly bond you have, you also get to witness firsthand the deliverance of God impacting the lives of the men in your group. This kind of fellowship builds your confidence and hope.
