FAITH, what is it?
?FAITH, what is it?
Some may say that it is about religion or belief, a conviction that there is a higher authority. Some will say it is a trust in something or a person without oversight or monitoring.
Some will say that they don’t have faith, but that is not true.
We all have faith of some sort.
·????????When we put the key in the ignition and turn it, we have faith that the car will start.
·????????When we open the refrigerator we have faith that the food will be chilled.
·????????When it gets cold outside, we have faith that the thermostat will turn the on furnace and faith that the furnace will heat the house.
We all experience it in some way every day.
For this article let’s pick a subject and talk about faith. Let’s pick plumbing.
When we turn on the faucet we have faith that the water to be there and when we turn on the hot water we have faith that warm water will be there.
We have faith that the water heater will continue to supply us with warm water for showers, laundry, and the dishwasher.
When we load the dishwasher we have faith that it will clean the dishes.
We have faith that when the water empties from the sink, shower, or tub that the drains will always deliver a flawless removal of the wastewater without any leaks or breaks.
We experience a degree of faith every day.
And because of our faith in the system, we:
·????????Ignore all aspects of the plumbing that we enjoy
·????????We block all plumbing benefits from our minds and what will happen when those benefits are not there. We have faith that they will always be there so we don’t think about them.
·????????Fail to keep up to date on the latest products that can and will continue to deliver all the comforts we expect to have daily
·????????We fail to educate ourselves on how the plumbings work
We have faith that the drains will never leak, the connections will never fail, or the parts don’t have a life span and will never need to be replaced. It is just there and it will always perform for us.
Therefore we don’t have a programmed preventive maintenance inspection of the systems to make sure that when things do break down and there is not a large repair bill because of the amount of damage water can cause if not caught in time.
We just don’t do it.
So when things do happen, we call the plumber and have faith that they will be able to make things better in a short time from the call as if they were waiting for our phone call or that they can drop and run when the call comes in. And do it without any issues of leaks when finished.
In the real world, things do break down and wear out. The plumber can have issues with product failures and leaks can occur when they think they are finished. They can’t always drop and run.
Product is another issue. We have faith that the plumber will always have the latest and highest quality products.
In the real world, a plumber is a VIP person to all of us.?
