'Faith it till you make it' to find your spiritual business model
With the Theranos case upon us, I was reflecting on the common entrepreneurial mantra of ‘fake it till you make it’.? Even when I was running my own business years ago or teaching a class on entrepreneurship, I remember using that phrase to get inspired or to inspire, but it never felt right.? It felt wrong every time.? Frankly, 20 years ago it was much easier to get away with it as well.? Now everything is out there and easily accessible - your investors, your contracts, your suppliers, your customers, and your reputation.??
I recently heard the term ‘Faith it til you make it’, and that felt right.? Faith is about belief, it is about being resolute, and having absolute naive confidence.? Faith is about knowing that if X happens, then there is a good chance that Y will happen.??
As entrepreneurs search for product/market fit on the path to their spiritual business model, it is going to be faith that gets themselves, their investors, and their team there, not fake. Reorient appropriately.??
