I can't sleep
I haven't slept for nights
The winter lull
my cosy bed
are but burdens on my soul
I could feel the tremors
of the earth-shaking
and of bombs dropping
of children crying
of mothers dying
My core is feeling it all inside
I wonder
I wonder
if God is also crying
to have left them dying
To shake a tree
is to shake the earth...
The Tree of Life...
Now barren (?)
in blazing infernos
of hate and despise
and of spitting lies
Oh the womb ??? of my heart
How much should I cry?

I have strange visions of being inside Dante's Inferno from his seminal work The Divine Comedy. Am I in a parallel universe or is it all real? For weeks, I, like many others have been trying to make sense of our world. And it's not about just the 'war and brutal killings', it's the lies and deceit, the hatred for the 'other', and the total moral collapse of the societies that once gave birth to the idea of (so-called) Enlightenment.
The Enlightenment is popularly seen as the Age of Reason, a key moment in human history when ideals such as freedom, progress, natural rights, and constitutional government prevailed. The original project, writes historian Richard Whatmore, in his latest book, The End of Enlightenment: Empire, Commerce, Crisis, if it can be called that, was to drain superstition and fanaticism from Europe and turn its nations and people into peace, prosperity, and happiness. In the first part, the Enlightenment largely succeeded. But, as Whatmore argues they saw it, only by trading the frying pan for the fire — and on the second hope, they failed.
The total moral and ethical redundancy, as we are seeing, in most European countries has spun them into a hatred frenzy where 'reason' is anything but a luxury most will not employ.
It scares me, to say the least, to witness this downward spiral/quagmire we are all descending in, collectively.
To Shake a Tree is to Shake the (core of the) Earth!!
And yet, here we were, at the dawn of the 21st century, elated by the fact, that human collective consciousness has evolved (or expanded) to a stage where we can truly embrace the 'whole' - the vastness of our human experience in all its diversity.
In his provocative book to inspire the evolution of a new humanity; Great Growing Up: Being Responsible for Humanity's Future, John Renesch, renowned futurist and prolific author, heralded a paradigm shift- from human self-centeredness to adult responsibility for all life forms. He makes the case that humans can rise to the occasion and create the society that we all know in our hearts is possible. I believed him, wholeheartedly and without a shadow of a doubt. Hence I have been on that journey ever since - with total conviction.
“The Next Big Thing Isn’t a Thing” – Bill Veltrop
Up until now, humanity’s great evolutionary shifts were “thing-centric” with social system ripples as a side effect. The next great evolutionary shift will reverse that relationship. An “Age of Conscious Evolution” based on “living systems” rather than our current “mechanistic, reductionistic” way of seeing reality calls for fundamental shifts in the nature and use of our “things.”
Yet, here we are, confused, lost, and blinded by fear and hatred for the 'others'. But amidst all this, we are also coming together to find truth for ourselves like never before. Sadly, at the cost of losing so many precious lives. Perhaps, that is God's way of showing us the full scale of evilness hidden in our human nature. And this is the thing about God-consciousness, the more you repel it, the more it manifests in its full glory.
So what of my visions of the 'inferno' and the shaking of the earth that won't let me sleep at night?
For centuries, mystical traditions have known the 'female' to be the custodian of the divine/mystical consciousness. A mystical consciousness that is love itself, that has the power of oneness, of spiritual transformation, of pure being.
