Faith is the absence of fear

Faith is the absence of fear

By: Mark Kadile

In the picturesque town of Manjuyod, nestled beneath the towering spires of the local catholic church, I grew up in our ancestral house which stood just across from the churchyard, my childhood was imbued with the sacred rhythms of faith and the absence of fear.

From a tender age, I felt a calling to serve at the altar. With reverence and determination, I joined the ranks of the Knights of the Altar, clad in my white robes as a symbol of purity and dedication. Through my duties, I learned the solemn responsibilities of serving the church with fidelity and honor, treating others with respect and justice, and living an upright personal life.

As I grew older, my faith became the cornerstone of my existence. It was not just a set of beliefs, but a guiding light that illuminated my path through life. I found strength in my unwavering commitment to doing good, speaking the truth, and standing for what was right even if it was in the face of great danger.

But as I ventured outside my hometown, I encountered the harsh realities of the world. I witnessed injustice, corruption, and oppression, evils that threatened to extinguish the flame of hope within me. Yet, I refused to cower in the face of darkness.

Drawing upon the teachings of my faith and the courage instilled in me as an altar boy, I confronted evil without fear. I became a fearless defender of my faith, unafraid to challenge the forces of injustice and tyranny that sought to oppress the weak and the helpless.

With God as my guide and my faith as my shield, I fearlessly waged a battle against the evils of society. I stood firm in my convictions, refusing to back down even when the odds seemed insurmountable. And though I faced many trials along the way, my faith never wavered.

In the end, this journey will be a testament to the power of faith and the strength that comes from standing up for what is right. My unwavering courage and determination hope to inspire others to follow in these footsteps, lighting the way for a brighter, more just future. As I continued to defend my faith with God by my side, I knew that he would always give me the strength to fight the evil of this world without fear.

Just sharing my 2 cents part of my humble story.
