Failure = Opportunity to Soar

Do you know anyone perfect on this earth? I’m pretty sure the answer to that is going to be a resounding “NO.” I really don’t like the word failure and wish we could change it to something like...failsoar, failnomore, failbull, failheckno, failnotonmywatch. We will all surely have moments of weakness, but let’s step up and not let those moments define us.
No one is immune to making mistakes and I make plenty of them. I think the ability to forgive yourself for mistakes and overcome them is what sets the winners apart from the second and third place finishers. And make no mistake, the second and third place finishers should be very proud of their accomplishments as well.
Here are four practical things WE can do to when we make mistakes:
1-Remove the word "failure" out of our vocabulary. I mean it. Don’t say it. Don’t write it. Don’t tell people we are one and do not believe for one more second that we ever were one.
2-Get up and take whatever made us feel like one and do something about it. Every solution is different for every person, but there are answers.
3-Learn from whatever made us weak and stand up to it, learn from it, and dig deep within our soul to overcome it.
4-Find a hobby that takes our mind completely off of work every once in a while. Travel, visit a hospital, take gifts to schools or do something meaningful. It could be as simple as giving someone a compliment. There is always success in helping others. Do something old fashioned like pick up the phone and help someone for no reason. Write personalized thank you notes instead of tweeting.
That word (that we’ve removed from our vocabulary) is now our opportunity to soar! Fly high, keep dreaming when no one else believes in us, and let’s all tackle this week with a breath of fresh air! Now, go high five someone right now! Why? Just because you feel like it, that’s why.
Note: I write these things because I'm self-reflecting on the things that I need to work on as well. The photo is from my fighter party this past summer when I felt like my mistakes didn't matter and all that I cared about was taking time to make these kids feel special. I want other people to experience this joy.
