FAILURE IS NOT A DEAD END
Anthony Joshua's Quotes After Winning the Bout with Andy Ruiz and my Take
Every single statement made last night after Anthony Joshua's win over Andy Ruiz when he was interviewed in my personal opinion was an inspirational quote. This is what I picked up with my interpretation;
1. "Man the first time was so nice, I had to do it twice!
Anthony Joshua
Meaning is not everytime you win the first time. Sometimes you fail and you have to go back to the drawing board and identify how it all went wrong and come back strongly and that is what AJ did.
2. "A man like me makes no excuses, this is about boxing"
Anthony Joshua
The moment you start pointing fingers when you fail, it means you are not ready to learn any lessons that will make you a better person for your next opportunity. AJ took the blame and started working to become better the next time and it worked for him.
3. "I'm used to knocking guys out. I got caught last time, no excuses, I gave him the credit".
Anthony Joshua
The man was used to knocking opponents out but with this bout, he had to change his strategy. In this 21st century, your versatility, ability to change and adapt to change will keep you in business.
4. "I respect Andy and his trainer so much, I wanted to show the sweet science of this lovely sport".
Anthony Joshua
Always respect your opponents. Love what you do and dedicate your time to learn the art that comes with it. Remember you become better by doing and that is the way you learn the science behind the industry that you operate.
5. "Stay hungry, stay humble. I'm humble in defeat and will stay humble in victory.
Anthony Joshua
Many complain about hunger but they don't do anything to feed their hunger. Also, everyone can be hungry, but I can say some are hungrier than others. In your quest to feed your hunger, be humble. That is in your difficult and best moments in life, learn to be humble as humility attracts good moments and breakthroughs.
6. "Careers are all about experience, I took my loss and bounced back, anyone can do it.
Anthony Joshua
The fact that you failed doesn't mean you are a failure. However, the moment you give up, that is the moment you fail. Give yourself the opportunity to bounce back when you fail by accepting you failed the first time, identify where everything went wrong and learn from your mistakes. If AJ can do it, then you also can do it.
7. "Someone told me to retire"
Anthony Joshua
Many at times when you fail, some people can be very nasty and tell you certain things that if not careful will destroy your career or vision. It might surprise you that many are always waiting for your downfall. I want you to know that anyone is bound to fall at a point in life, but never stay fallen. Always learn to rise up and start all over again. Never let the negative comments of anyone destroy your vision. Believe in yourself and always strive to be the best.
Congratulations AJ and I'm proud of you. You proved the principle that you cannot win a war if you don't know the weakness of your opponent to be true. You studied your opponent and identified his weakness and used it against him and it worked perfectly. You have shown exemplary leadership full of discipline, tenacity of purpose and ability to be strategic. Keep shining and keep inspiring us to believe it can be done against all odds. You are writing your history of self belief and the defying of odds to win battles that seem impossible. If you are reading this article, then my simple advise is to believe in yourself as it's possible if only you believe.
