Seeing this LinkedIn Post may just change your life...
This week I read this incredibly honest & insightful LinkedIn post from Clémence Lepers.
The post talks about why she’s shutting down her clothing brand 423 days after starting it + 6 lessons & reflections.
My key takeaway? A failure can be seen as a success if you take valuable lessons from it.
Thought for the day:?There’s nothing like an epic fail to kick you up the arse...(see more?below).

- I miss my kids. I was only away in Sheffield for one night but I really miss them. I never thought I'd be like this, maybe this is part of getting old & growing up?
- I hit 3 months alcohol-free yipee! I'm actually starting to see my abs which I haven't been able to see since I was about 12.

- I totally mean this. Having someone to share the ups & downs of running a business with makes it all worthwhile.

Thought for the day:?There’s nothing like an epic fail to kick you up the arse…
Yesterday I spoke at Sheffield DM which was a lot of fun!
But…The last few months leading up to the event have been bloody hard work.
I ran through my presentation a bazillion times.
Even more than usual & I’ll tell you why.
A few months ago I spoke at another (much smaller) event that went tits up.
I was asked to speak last minute & I agreed to do it although I had no time to prep.
I did a small amount of prep & thought, ‘ahh I’ll be fine, I’ve done this talk before (like a year ago!?)’.
When I got on stage a few months ago, my mind literally went blank & nothing more than a load of waffle came out my mouth.
I left the event feeling like shit thinking…Am I suddenly a shit speaker?
Have I lost all my confidence?
What will I do about Sheffield DM & the other events I have coming up???
After feeling sorry for myself, I spoke to Lloyd & agreed to make time to do extra prep for the next event.
Every time I was in the car (on my own) I’d run through the talk.
Before the team got into work I’d run through it multiple times in the office throughout the week.
I was actually prepped!
And guess what…It went really well.
I delivered the keynote exactly how I wanted to (even with a mic tech issue).
Seeing the below feedback (see image) made everything worth it.
It was worth it.
Phew.
Relief.
The lesson?
Failing to prepare is preparing to fail!
Happy Friday!!

I’m glad the post resonated with you, thank you!

1 年I read this post too, very insightful, I have learnt more in the past few weeks from my own failures than I have from my successes.
