Failed ANC state - Time for tax revolt

Failed ANC state - Time for tax revolt

In Eskom v Vaal River [2022] ZACC 44 Judge Madlanga made it clear that being deprived of electricity violated several rights in the Bill of Rights. Such as the right to dignity, access to healthcare services, sufficient water, an environment that is not harmful and the right to basic education. And the impact on freedom of trade and the ability to earn a living is devastating. In that case the court described the “catastrophic effect on the lives of the residents.” Read the whole case here https://www.saflii.org/za/cases/ZACC/2022/44.html

SHORTAGE OF DIESEL FOR GAS TURBINES

So when this country was battered by Stage 6 loadshedding I could not understand why the government refused to supply or fund diesel for Eskom’s turbine generators. The cost of the diesel is a fraction of the daily and long-term cost to the economy, businesses, society and people’s quality of life. How could a government do that to its citizens? In a Constitutional Democracy.

The ministers stay in government complexes that are exempt from loadshedding or they have their mansions kitted out with Deluxe generators on our tax money. They get their massive salaries and perks and a BMW X5 regardless of how bad the economy is. They and their families also have access to further revenue streams from the tenders that are interwoven with this ANC Cadre System. Those ministers are totally insulated. They could care less.

BROKEN SOCIAL CONTRACT

We are a tiny percent of taxpayers funding the whole country and the luxurious plunder and lifestyles of the ruling elite. The massive welfare system that we also fund merely serves to keep these rogues in power. Why should we continue to be good citizens and pay taxes and rates and all the other charges on our daily lives and businesses? When the government has totally failed to perform in terms of the Social Contract. They have failed to provide or maintain the very basics of civilisation such as electricity, water, a railway system, State hospitals, adequate policing, education or a good business environment. They can’t even keep the lights on so that we can work to earn to keep paying taxes.

Who keeps paying more and ever higher charges when the other party totally fails to perform or to deliver what is promised? Why should we keep paying taxes so that this ANC Cadre Elite can remain in power and continue their plunder and obscenely rich lifestyles in total contempt for us citizens? Is there a legitimate means of mass tax revolt or withholding or diversion of our money? Are there any tax, administrative or constitutional law experts with some ideas?

ENDLESS LITIGATION

Taking the government to court is fruitless because the departments litigate against you with your own tax money and they will run it on and on and then appeal. See how hard Intercape bus service has to fight just to get Fikile Mbalula to do his job (something’s he’s fighting tooth and nail not to do). The only way that we can make this elite sit up and notice is if we turn off the pipeline of tax money on which they gorge and splurge with impunity.

Some seriously drastic and concerted action is needed, within the law. Some citizens have taken over municipal services where the municipalities have totally failed. We have reached the point where the Disaster Management Act is applicable to our own government. During the July 2021 Looting those of us in KZN truly saw what it was like to be abandoned by a Failed State and be left to fend for ourselves. We citizens have to take back our country and economy from the clutches of this rotten ANC Elite. Don’t keep paying for services and promises you never get. Why would you?

Well put Uncle Louis! Time to declare our municipalities "unfit to run cities" and start paying our rates and utility bills into Blockchain managed trust accounts.

The misfits, corrupt and criminals cANCer could not care too hoots about the citizens of SA. It is a mafia organisation! SA needs to take off the blinkers and see the true and real colours of the misfits, corrupt and criminals cANCer! It is time to get rid of them for good in 2024!

Generator or no generator. If you get a 25 year old generator, mechanically and electronically shattered-will you be able to fix it? No old parts to replace broken parts, the initial manufacturing company does not exist anymore, the guy who build it not here. You won’t be able to fix it. Tax revolt-yes but it will come at a cost unless the poor and jobless people get prioritised. This was the issue all a long. Poor uneducated people were neglected and not planned for. The sad reality is they are still neglected. They have been burnt twice. You take away the pocketbook and things change quickly. Where will the money go? Establish thousands of Orania (inclusive) like estates? Independent? Is it feasible and realistic to think any political party or coalition would fix South Africa? The normal South African can fix. Much like how ants operate. Wishy washy comment, sorry. Love this place!
