Fail To Plan, Plan To Fail
Are you struggling to adapt to a new normal? I know I am.
No, I'm not talking about managing summer holiday stress, I don't know how I can survive another 4 years until the next Olympics!
Becoming a runner about 12 years ago gave me a new appreciation for the herculean feats of the Olympians but even for the best of the best, it doesn't just magically happen on the day. What you see in the 10 seconds of a 100m sprint has taken 4 years of hard work and careful planning just to get to the start line.
While it doesn't take anywhere near as much effort or time, planning your video marketing is just as important for success. You can spend a lot of time and money on the actual video production but unless you have a solid plan for how you are going to use your content, you may end up running in the wrong direction.
So, with that in mind, this month I wanted to give you a worksheet to help you plan out every stage of promoting your videos in the 4 main areas, social media, your website, YouTube and your sales process.
Feel free to save these images for you to refer back to later.
What Have I Been Filming?
I've said it before and I will probably say it 10,000 more times, video testimonials are the most powerful type of video you can make for your business.

In a couple of minutes, you can talk about the problem your customer was facing, what you did to fix it, what it was like working with you and how much better their life/business is now.
Don't take my word for it, check out this video I made with Thames Valley Controls where we talk to John Reynolds from CAMBRIDGE LIFTS LIMITED about how their products have increased productivity in John's business.
Cool Stuff I've Seen
I blooming love this channel. Epic Light Media is a production company based in the States and they do a great job of taking you behind the scenes and showing you what goes into a professional shoot.
If I had the budget I would love to have someone following me about on a shoot, just to make content. Add that one to the goal list!
And that is August wrapped up with a bow on it. Before you go, I have been thinking a lot about my branding lately and I'm looking to add a bit more of myself to it.
A big part of my life is running and I would love to share it with you. So, what do you think about focusing my content around running and relating it back to video production and running a business?
Let me know in the comments and see you next month.
