Plan Your Way to Profit! (AKA Essentials of a Simple (Profitable) Plan)

Have you ever made a HUGE mistake by purchasing a marketing 'quick fix' in your business which you simply could not make work for you?

• You paid A LOT of money for little or NO RETURN on investment?
• You didn't really think it through fully?
• Now you are beating yourself up about it?

Before making any business decisions you are going to have a better outcome if you know your business goals and make a plan to get them. This will help INFORM you when you make decisions - and prevent expensive mistakes.

HOWEVER - there can be mistakes in planning itself.

THREE common planning mistakes

These are three things I hear small business owners like coaches and consultants saying about planning:

1.      Don't need one - they THINK they don't need one, they wing it, it's been ok so far....or has it?! What worked, what didn't - could time and energy be saved in getting more focused and more profit built in the business as a result?

2.      Door stop - they create so much paper in their plans, they get in so much detail it ends up being the SIZE of a doorstop - and then used as one too! A plan needs to be simple and easy to keep alive ---- and used! So much easier to make profits when you don't take a month to create your plan (or pay a marketing or business consultant ￡￡￡￡￡s to make it for you) then never use it again!

3.      Plan phobia - they have the understanding that a plan is something they need but they are truly frightened of 'doing it wrong' or what 'should' go in it...or the time it will need to write it. Bearing in mind the previous point, I am not surprised! It doesn't have to complicated.
