FACTS TRAINING

I just went to my annual FACTS recurrent training. It was GREAT! I cannot stress ENOUGH the importance of CORPORATE SPECIFIC EGRESS TRAINING. IF you are a Part 121, (Commercial F/A) you absolutely should not be on a private aircraft without attending "corporate specific egress training". You are not trained for our equipment or "ACTING" alone, totally alone in the event of an anticipated/unanticipated emergency. There are no other flight attendants to have your back or help you.

I went to the Northeast Training Center in Whippany, NJ near MMU Airport. REAL firefighting, ditching exercises in a pool, and CPR/AED re certification, and the infamous drills. G550 Certification and ALL exits on the sim.

There were 8 others in my class. We all had different scenarios in their half million $ sim, and theatrical smoke at times. That sim bounces, screeches, and creates a real egress experience for you. I had a hard drill.

PIC called me up to the flight deck, planned ditching going into the Bahamas, and I had 5 minutes to PREP my PAX and cabin. I asked my TEST ?'s and went into action. Then right when we landed, they threw in a lav fire! THANKS JIM! LOL

When you don't use it you LOSE it, so I am thankful to NOT use this training, but I am PREPARED for anything with FACTS Training. In reality, I evacuated a GIV one night in HPN, (an electrical fire) and also had a medical issue on an aircraft.....

Without FACTS, I would not have reacted and acted as I did! I was GRATEFUL to have my INTENSE but always fun egress training with Lauren Jarmosko an experienced CFA veteran and excellent egress training expert, and her side kick the AMAZING Jim Pizzichiello, an EMT and retired fire fighter. Together they are a fabulous team imparting CRUCIAL evac training in a way that supports the room and empowers you.

I highly recommend FACTS! Patti Adams in LGB is awesome as well. :)
