You have probably heard the saying that, "Facts tell, but stories sell."
Which is 100% True, but the problem is...
How do you tell a story that actually compels someone AT ANY LEVEL buy from you or even hire you???
You see, when I first heard this tip. My initial reactionary thoughts were:
"You must make lies up in your story telling."
" You cant tell a story any different than how it went down."
Well I stand here today to tell you... I WAS WRONG!!
How do you tell any good story in a way that sells??
---- YOU LOOK FOR THE 5 SECOND MOMENT----
Every good story has a 5 second moment that changes EVERYTHING.
WE CALL THESE MOMENTS PARADIGM SHIFTS.
Here is an example of the exact same story. One told with out the 5 second moment and one told with the 5 second moment.
Ex 1: "My husband and I fell in love over a coffee date. He had always been just a really good friend and I never really saw him as anything else. However, after hearing his heart that day. I knew he was the one for me."
Ex 2: 5 second Moment " We had known each other for a long time. I had only thought of him as a friend. However, when he said, " The truth is, I don't even like coffee, I just need to come up with excuses to be with you." Thats the moment everything changed for me. I had fallen in love with him. It was the moment I knew I had found my husband.
Same story..BUT...
One sounds like every other persons story. While the other pulls the listener in and makes them think,
"I want a love story like that!!!"
So when you are looking for a job or are wanting to up your sales game, Find ways to bring up stories that have 5 second moments.
And from here on out, Look for the 5 second moments... It could be a moment that will not only change you life, but maybe even someone else's life too.
