Factory Physics by W.J. Hopp & M.L. Spearman

Factory Physics by W.J. Hopp & M.L. Spearman

What it is about:

A tour de force of the science behind manufacturing and supply chain operations, from classic inventory optimization to queuing theory and pull systems without any distracting fluff. This is a graduate level textbook, with all the expected rigor and required effort to benefit from it.

Why it changed my thinking:

It created a mental landscape of how all seemingly disparate operations research, information systems and manufacturing science fit together. It allowed me to become an independent learner in this field and go deeper where needed. It is one of my go-to reference books more than 20 years after I first went through it.

Where to get it:

(Note, if you buy from the links here, I get a little commission back)
