Facing the cringe:
Why you should ignore your inner critic and become a less stressed better dressed version of yourself.
Fear the cringe and do it anyway has been my mantra this year. Mainly so that I can find a way to overcome my inner critic which offers up a (daily) roasting of certain cringe behaviours.
The definition of 'cringe' is 'inward feeling of acute embarrassment' which I think sums up the word pretty well. I do think however cringe can be a good thing, it can be a way to hold yourself to account and keep things manageable. If something is 'just too cringe' then you probably shouldn't be doing it.
I can recall many cringe moments from this year (this newsletter is front and centre) but none more so than doing a solo podcast - and then a follow up newsletter to tell everyone about it.
After 52 weeks of interviews, I thought it was time to share my Stressed But Well Dressed reflections. It isn't quite a recall of the fashion faux pas of Christmases past (which obviously there have been many), it's more some of the life lessons that podcasting has taught me.
The episode is shorter than usual because recording a one person conversation isn't easy but it has definitely taken me outside of my comfort zone, and we all know that is where the learning happens.
I'll give you a quick overview here and if you are interested in a little more depth have a listen to the show!

2 个月Loved your reflections on your final pod cast of the year. The cringe factor is certainly something I think we all struggle with. You have inspired me to bring more cringe into my 2025. X
