Facing the challenges ahead

Hey there MonkeyPod community,

This week has been challenging for many people, and we wanted to let you know that our team is right there with you. This week’s election has introduced a lot of uncertainty for many people in this country, and we’re all struggling to find out how to deal with it.

While leadership may be changing in this country, what shouldn’t change is the way we show up for the people in our communities. Nonprofit professionals are committed to helping their communities, and that commitment doesn’t waver as politicians come and go.?

In fact, elections reinforce just how critical the work you do is. Whatever people or party is in power, the government is always going to let some people fall through the cracks. Nonprofits help to fill those gaps and make sure that everyone has the support they need. Supporting that critical work is why the MonkeyPod team gets up and goes to work every day, and we’re committed to keep doing that each and every day.?

We also want to do what we can to double down on that support. We know many under-resourced organizations are even more concerned about their futures now – especially those that protect LGBT+ youth, people of color, abortion access, and the environment – even though their work has never been more important.?

Our team is discussing the right way to do this, but we plan to announce a program in the coming weeks that provides our software for free to organizations in need. We’re working out the details, but stay tuned for information on how organizations can apply.?

We also want to remind you to take care of yourselves and each other in the challenging and stressful weeks to come. Know that our team is right there with you, struggling to process this moment. Remember to take time to care for yourself while you’re continuing to care for your community.?
