Barthélémy ROUER, Founder and CEO

1. What are your main tasks at WPO ?

As WPO's Global CEO, my main role is to represent the company to our various stakeholders, define the company's strategy and provide it with the resources it needs to develop.

2. Why did you create WPO ?

In 2008, I recognised that the renewable energy power generation sector was going to consolidate and become more financialised. ?

To address this trend, I envisioned a specialised, independent service platform with the aim at becoming a trusted, quality-driven business partner in the industry, dutifully doing our bit to accelerate the Energy Transition.

3. What is your vision for WPO ?

To date, we have become a unique independent renewables player, providing asset management services for over 9 GW, technical advisory services for over 50 GW, and with digitalisation as part of our core. And we are ready to scale up for much more !

4. What do you appreciate most about WPO ?

After 15 years at the helm of WPO, what stands out and what really matters are all the human adventures that make up the company's daily life and history.

What makes us special at WPO is a deeply rooted culture of quality and customer focus: we are safe, reliable, and fit-for-purpose.

What makes my journey so enjoyable as a CEO is to work with such wonderful colleagues !

A very rich background in the Renewable Energies

Barthelemy Rouer is graduated from INSA Lyon and is a qualified mechanical engineer. He joined the renewable energy sector when France launched its first renewable support mechanism in 2001.?

He worked as a project manager or director for several companies such as Schlumberger, Vergnet, EnXco (EDF Renewables), Shell Wind Energy (Royal Dutch Shell) and UPC Renewables.?

He developed onshore and offshore wind projects in France, Spain, Greece, Italy, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Cuba, the Dominican Republic and China before creating WPO in 2008.?

In addition to ensuring sustained organic growth for WPO, he has also successfully completed several M&A transactions to bring WPO at continental scale.?

With 22 years of international experience in the renewable energy sector, Barthélémy sits on various boards of directors for large institutional financial investors.??

He speaks French, English and Spanish, and is a keen cyclist.
