1. What are your main tasks as a Commercial Contracts Manager within WPO ?
Within the Sales and Business Development department, I manage the tendering and contracting process for our services contracts, for renewables projects both in Europe and overseas, which includes :
2. Could you describe the core responsibilities of your role and how they contribute to the company's success ?
I'm responsible for following up commercial leads and tenders, preparing offers, drafting, and negotiating contracts. Given the cross-functional nature of our activities, and the importance of new sales and renewed contracts to our growing business, our business unit actively contributes to the success of WPO's commercial activities and growth.
3. What are the most challenging and rewarding aspects of being a Commercial Contract Manager ?
I need to find the proper balance between ensuring customer's satisfaction and deal closing, against protecting our contractual interests and mitigating our risks.

4. What are the key qualities and skills that someone needs to possess in order to be successful as a Commercial Contracts Manager ?
Strong contractual experience (with some legal background) is required, ideally complemented with technical and commercial experience in our market sector. In addition to rigour, curiosity and attentiveness, we are also required to maximise benefit to our clients while protecting WPO's interests.
5. What do you like most about WPO ?
WPO's international dimension, youth, confidence and flexibility, particularly in terms of remote working and the multi-disciplinary nature of tasks assigned.
A strong international background in Contracts Management
Thomas DEVEIX graduated in law from Paris II - Pantheon Assas, with a master's degree in international business law, completed by a degree in contracts management.
He started his career as an intern in Business Law Firms before joining the renewable energy sector with Voltalia in 2017.
He then worked as a Contracts Manager for the EPC of large-scale wind and PV power plants projects in France, the UK, Portugal, Burundi, Tanzania, Kenya and Brazil, including the 575 MW Solar Serra do Mel project in Brazil Nordeste.
The international dimension of the projects he worked on led him to work for more than 4 years in the Portuguese and Brazilian subsidiaries of Voltalia.
He joined WPO in March 2023 as a Commercial Contracts Manager, to support the strong commercial growth of the company and manage the Contracts Department.
