Facebook’s like button is about to get some emotional company! Everyday about 1.39 billion are mobile users wake up and the first thing they do is sign into their Facebook to receive updates from their news feeds. Whether it’s family, friends or celebrities, we are voluntarily bombarded with posts.
Sometimes these posts are happy, sometimes they’re sad, sometimes they’re thought provoking and sometimes we have no idea why it was even posted but guess what!? NOW YOU CAN REACT. It’s like the social media gods heard our cries and are helping us voice our opinions in one click. The new reactions button was created as an extension to the like button. Facebook has been testing this out in a few markets before launching it globally. It’ll be a big change for some but for the rest it’ll be an even better way to express how you feel about someone’s post.
To add a reaction, hold down the Like button on mobile or hover over the Like button on desktop to see the reaction image options, then tap either Like, Love, Haha, Wow, Sad or Angry.
During the research stage Facebook took into consideration many things while focusing on what users were already commenting on their posts and others. The most used stickers and emoticons are what we see offered as a reaction.
Facebook says they are committed to continuing to learn and listen and use the feedback to add or remove reactions but for the mean time can we say that we absolutely LOVE this idea.
