Facebook Updates Yet Again?

Facebook Updates Yet Again?

Just when you thought Facebook has updated enough, Mark Zuckerberg’s team is ready to roll out a whole new algorithm to change up your News Feed. How will the update affect your steady stream of snippets and stories? It might have more of a positive impact than you think.

The new update will give priority to posts that Facebook determines you want to see. How can they tell what you want to see? Easy, they can read your mind. Just kidding! (Sort of) It actually will time how long you stay on a page after you’ve clicked it, factoring in content length.

“With this change, we can better understand which articles might be interesting to you based on how long you and others read them, so you’ll be more likely to see stories you’re interested in reading,” a Facebook representative said.

Alongside timing you to figure out if you like what you’re reading, Facebook’s new algorithm will attempt to diversify your news feed from different authors and pages. This way you get more of what you like from varied voices.

Facebook seems to be a consistently working process for its engineers and developers. Hopefully this will bring increased visibility to brands for their intended audience as well as bringing more enjoyable content to the social media site’s users.
