Facebook, and Insta, and LinkedIn - OH MY!
Each social media platform has a different "feel" to it, they all have a unique experience that the users expect from it.
Stop. Posting. The. Same. Stuff. To. All. Three.
OK, I got that out of my system! Here's a quick guide for you to use, feel free to copy and paste this:
INSTAGRAM: Think of Instagram as a magazine that people are flipping through. The pictures should be bright, fun, and catch my eye. If you have a message to get across, try and put a short phrase in the photo so that people see it as they're passing by. If you include a link in your caption on the photo... it is not clickable! That's right, you cannot include links in your captions. It stinks, I know.
LINKEDIN: The average LinkedIn user is getting on the app to do a quick search or scan the news feed. Your post has to grab their attention, but if it does then it's likely to be read. Long posts are ok here, as long as the content is good. LinkedIn users, as a whole, do NOT go back to the home page multiple times a day so posting more than once a day isn't a good use of time. LinkedIn is really going big on hashtags (use them), articles (write them) and groups (start one).
FACEBOOK: Our beloved Facebook... the weird mix of all social media platforms with the dreaded algorithm. Here's my quick tip on Facebook: Don't Be Boring. Engage your audience with fun posts, conversation-starting questions and cool videos. You should really have your own group, and you should have your own Page, and you really need to engage with others if you want your content to be seen. Have fun on Facebook, that's how you win the algorithm game!
I don't want to beg, but I'd love to connect with you:
