Facebook is dead? Long life to Facebook (with Amazon collab)!
Despite since almost 8 years I hear "Facebook is dead, it's TikTok now the P2B (Platform to Be)", but data proves the contrary. Of course, if you are targeting Gen Alpha or Gen Z, for them Facebook is a "Grandpa". But time spent on Facebook and Instagram this year was up 7% and 6%, respectively, according to Meta ’s Q3 earnings. This is a good result if we consider the huge amount of time we already spent on #socialmedia.
In order to push for new developments, in mid November, the Company tied-up with Amazon: users can click on an #Amazon advertisement and be taken directly to a shop-like experience to make purchases with their Prime account within the app they're using. Meta claimed that U.S. users will be able to see real-time pricing, Prime eligibility, delivery times, and product information.
Such an integration is getting closer to the dream of all e-comm managers: the one-click to buy! But for those like me, who keep working in the #socialmediamarketing, this move is the natural "extended version" of what Pinterest did 8 months ago.
In fact, #Pinterest (PINS) signed a multiyear deal with Amazon for a closed-loop shopping experience. The deal already has led to a third-quarter boost in revenue and profit for Pinterest. Like Meta, the company also noted an upturn in the advertising market after facing a recent tough macroeconomic environment for social media firms.

To close the loop about Meta strategies...if the Meta ad-free subscription options for Facebook and Instagram at the end of October caught by surprise users, professionals were ready.
The move serves as a litmus test for the viability of ad-free, subscription-based social media, and it was in response to EU #privacy regulations, despite the cost could price out some social media users:
For Meta’s subscription model to be financially viable in the US, monthly rates would have to be even higher to make up for the higher ad revenues per user in the North American market. In fact,in the US, every Facebook user will bring in $157.56, compared with the $80.48 for every user in France.
Will we be keep using those platform? YES. Why am I sure? Because for GenX, Millennials (late millennials) and Boomers, Facebook is still relevant and Amazon is familiar. The combination of both platform in one-click-to-buy will boost sales. It already did with Pinterest!
