Face Value
I heard it said once, That you should "believe nothing you hear and half of what you see" I bet the second number can be higher, I believe that many of us make a quick judgement based on what we see, I will speak for myself, I know it happens with me, I try not too, I am aware of it, However, I think it's a normal human condition.
I also heard someone say, "Those that judge don't matter, and those that matter don't judge" If that's true a lot of us are in trouble, how else do you survive, how do you find what's right, if you can't judge what's wrong? I judge, I do my best not to sentence anyone.
Everybody has a story, and I will always do my best, to pull me in, and try not to take things at face value, none of us are saints, and nobody walks on water, we all come from different places, cultures, families, backgrounds and religions, we live in a very diverse world, that has become smaller and smaller, and it is a constant effort to look beyond our human fears and see the real stories.
I took sales training courses that told me, people like people like themselves.
We should all try to have empathy, realize that what we see is not always what we get, to understand rather than be understood, give the benefit of the doubt, and most importantly don't take things at face value, we could be selling ourselves short.
