FAA to hire Candidates with severe intellectual and psychiatric disabilities
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is actively recruiting individuals with severe intellectual and psychiatric disabilities, as well as those with various physical conditions, as part of its Diversity and Inclusion initiative. This hiring campaign, aimed at addressing underrepresentation in the federal workforce, includes critical roles such as air traffic controllers and supports candidates with hearing and vision impairments, and those with limb differences or paralysis. Assistant Administrator John P. Benison of the Office of Civil Rights leads this effort, emphasizing the importance of diversity in fulfilling the FAA's mission of safe and efficient national and international travel. Boeing Faces Renewed Delays in China
China Southern Airlines has indicated intentions to delay the delivery of its 24 Boeing 737-8 MAX aircraft currently in operation and 44 additional orders, due to concerns raised by a recent incident involving an Alaska Airlines 737-9 MAX. This decision, influenced by the Chinese government, comes despite the recent authorization for the delivery of Boeing's first aircraft to China in four years, a 787-9 to Juneyao Airlines. Meanwhile, Boeing, struggling with financial losses, pressures the U.S. government to resolve differences with China, aiming to resume deliveries and boost sales, as Airbus gains market share in China. Runway Excursion Incident at Mirny Airport
Aviastar-Tu flight TUP9633, operated with a Tupolev Tu-204C registered RA-64051, experienced a runway excursion at Mirny Airport, Russia, during landing.
