F5 Load Balancer Network Engineer - CONTRACT - Illinois

V-Soft Consulting is currently seeking F5 Load Balancer Network Engineer client in Downers Grove, Illinois. This is a contract position in Information Technology and Services industry.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED:

Education and Experience ?

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or similar
• At least 10 years experience working in an Oracle environment

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities ?

• Excellent understanding of web site technology
• Excellent understanding of TCP/IP addressing and routing basics
• Excellent understanding with networking terminology
• Strong understanding of DNS and troubleshooting
• Excellent understanding of VMware and awareness of Cloud technology
• Excellent knowledge and understanding of internet/e-commerce technologies
• Excellent technical awareness of IT server infrastructure
• Excellent understanding of cyber security and enterprise level anti-virus threat detection management
• Expert knowledge of WebSeal Weblogic, Websphere, Jboss, Apache, Tomcat, Savion, Cold Fusion, Vordel, HTTP, and IIS software products. installation, Configuration, Administration and troubleshooting.
• Expert knowledge of SSL Certificate Management
• Strong knowledge of doing tcpdumps from F5 Load Balancers.
• Expert knowledge of BigIP, subnetting, Load Balancing, VIPs, and Irules
• Strong knowledge with scripting tools like Javascript, Bash, Perl, Python, etc.
• Strong Knowledge of various platforms (Mainframe, Distributed Systems, IBMi) OS platforms: Unix, Linux, Hpux, Windows, Solaris, AIX.
• Strong working knowledge of tools, Ansible, Chef, Salt, Shavlik, RHEL Satellite
• Strong working knowledge of App Dynamics toolset or New Relic a plus.
• Must have excellent communication skills since working directly with the client is a significant requirement of this position.
• Some Knowledge and understanding of Cisco firewalls / VPN
• Microsoft SQL or Oracle DB skills a plus.
• Knowledge of the ITIL framework
• MCITP / MCSE / MCSA / CCNA / CompTIA

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

Job Responsibilities:

• Responsible for leading, coordinating, and executing tasks to facilitate the migration of client’s Oracle environment from multiple locations. While working closely with Project Managers, work together to execute the migration strategy.
• Provide assessment of current environment and provide detailed infrastructure recommendations to consider as part of migrations.
• Produce detailed step by step migrations plans with milestones for PM input.
• Provide weekly status on progress to Project Manager.
• Construction and test of DR environment is also in scope.
