The F1 Grand Prix: Environmental bane, Economic boon?

The Formula 1 race has its fair share of both fans and distractors but it may be generally said that whilst it is an Environmental bane, it also spells an Economic boon for its hosts, organisers and sponsors.?

After an absence due COVID-19 of 2 years, the Singapore Grand Prix returned with a record-breaking 302,000 spectators for the final race, with Transport Minister S Iswaran indicating?about half of those?attending were international visitors while the rest were based locally.?

Whilst the claims and aims of Sustainability by race organisers have been controversial, what is noteworthy are the intentions and efforts to reduce the massive carbon footprint of an event that sustains livelihoods, motivates millions and brings tangible economic benefits to host nations for emissions that were previously unheeded and unmitigated. ?

Interesting related future developments would be the confluence of F1 with Formula-E, and if and how this could help reduce?further the?carbon footprint whilst keeping its mood and energy of an event whose lesser-known?benefit is actually to test and improve on automotive technology.?And possibly a Formula H one day even, with innovations in hydrogen-fuelled vehicles?in progress, and predicted by F1 boss Ross Brawn himself.?

And for the record, Congratulations to Sergio Perez for winning the Singapore Grand Prix 2022.

I would have loved to see a (Red Bull) racing track for cyclists instead; including 20 rounds up Mount Faber with final sprint at Orchard Road. And then we let it coincide with a nation wide car-free day and ask incoming visitors to plant a tree each.
