MagicLinks' Hiring Policy

Our approach to hiring is simple:  a candidate is either an F Yes; or they are a No. 

We’ve grown our team 3x over the past eighteen months.  In a fast moving environment, made even more complex with the seismic shifts COVID-19 has surprised us with, this direct approach has allowed us to better tap into our spidey senses when it comes to finding raw talent, cultural fit, and folks with grit and great attitude

It’s not easy to find the F Yes.  F Yes is more than the resume, more than the interview, more than the qualitative and quantitative skill set.  It’s a feeling.  For example, when in minute 0:13 of the interview, you find yourself selling the candidate, rather than them selling you on why they would be a good fit.  Or when you accidentally catch the clock realizing it’s been an hour...and you could easily go on for another hour.  It’s a feeling when your energy levels up in their presence.  When each step of the process gets better and better.

We’ve made mistakes and grown our discipline for the F Yes through countless F Maybe’s. Sometimes a candidate’s resume is perfect, they interview well, and team members feel good about their ability to have impact.  But, if any one of us hesitates to the F Yes, it’s an important (and oftentimes not easy) gut-check moment for us to stay accountable to our principles. 

We’ve found this to be a powerful question to pose to the team after sitting with a candidate.  Are you an F Yes?  If not…it’s time for us to move on.

As the go-to partners for video influencers, we've brought that element into our culture as well and have created a non-traditional way of sending an offer 'letter': a F Yes video showing the team's excitement and the energy for the candidate.
