In our latest Expert Talks interview with Alberto Mancillas (pictured above) who is Fleet Manager for electrification and automation tech company ABB in North America and Brazil, Alberto shared his expertise on managing a diverse fleet spanning multiple countries, offering us valuable insights into the intricacies of fleet operations in the region.?

“There is a significant difference in fleet composition and management practices across countries in the Americas,” said Alberto, explaining that while the US primarily focuses on work-related vehicles and Brazil more towards smaller benefit vehicles, Mexico falls somewhere in between.?

As for other interviews, we spoke about integrating telematics and topics such as mitigating risks at the wheel with Carlos Serrano García who is CEO and Co-founder of telematics and connectivity company One Tierra.?

We also spoke with Daniel Arias who is head of vehicle control and road safety for vehicle rental company MAXIRent, discussing topics such as safety training and the use of the company’s mobile simulator.?

Our Snapshot in April provided a look into Argentina 's mobility landscape, highlighting key economic factors, automotive trends, and energy costs crucial for understanding the country's mobility ecosystem.?

As for vehicles, South Americas second largest vehicle market saw approximately 15 million new registrations in 2023. Leading was Fiat, followed by Volkswagen, General Motors, Toyota, and Hyundai. The best-selling models in Argentina last year were the Fiat Kronos, Peugeot 208, Toyota Hilux pickup, Volkswagen Amarok pickup, and Toyota Etios.?

New Appointments at Nissan???

Nissan Motor Corporation has appointed Rodolfo Possuelo as Senior Director for Aftersales in Latin America, previously Commercial Director for the automaker in Brazil. Taking over for Mr. Possuelo is Ricardo Bianchi , now Director of Sales and the Dealership Network in Brazil. He was previously head of sales operations in the country.?
