Eyes On The Prize
I was talking earlier to an aspiring entrepreneur and used the old saying, you have the concepts of what you want to do down, you just need to "keep your eyes on the prize".
The saying has special meaning to those who watched a PBS documentary back in the 80's called Eyes on the Prize.

It's about the Civil Rights Movement and I remember how eye opening it was. Having grown up in a very diverse city in California, I didn't really see racism as clearly as I might have growing up in a different part of the country.
But that documentary was eye opening. The struggle faced by so many that fought so long for something so basic as equality. It was one of the factors that cemented my choice of majoring in history.
It also severed a reminder that whenever I lose my way in life and need to get my eyes back on the prize, I need to suck it up and push forward. All I am fighting for is a good living and happy life. They were fighting for so much more... for them the prize was so much greater.
And so it is a time again in my life, where being at some what of a cross roads in life... I need to to keep my eyes on the prize. My prize. Which is making a difference in people's lives and most importantly in the life of my son.
So what is your prize? Do you have your eyes on it?
